Jacob's Summer Reading Challenge

As promised, Ben and Jerry's ice cream cone for finishing second set of 8 books. I am proud of him for finishing his goal. I hope first grade will be an easy transition for him.

Legoland and Aliso Viejo

We took a nice little vacation in Aliso Viejo and then drove to Carlsbad for a day at Legoland.

We spent everyday in the pool and Jacob showed off his improved swimming skills.

Jacob and Michael glued together at Legoland.

Noah's Ark at the Skirball

Before our vacation, I took Jacob to the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center. Unfortunately Jacob came down with a cold and was not up to par. The tickets were not refundable or transferable so I was stuck. They also had a drop- in- art activity which we went to. It was making dolls or action figures, Jacob made Ben Kenobi the favorite Star Wars character at the moment.

SmART Space - Art in the Universe

My little spaceman.

Stars of course.

More stars and the moon.

Control Journal.

A Robot.

The moon, craters and all.

A volcano - used bleaching technique.

The Universe - who knew it was in the shape of a heart.

A robot - in mommy's favorite color.

My favorite - an alien.

A rocket, equipped with ladder for entry.

Jacob enjoyed his last week of art camp. He loves going and I love sending him since he does such cool stuff. Our art station is now over flowing with creations.

Star Wars

We now have a Jedi Warrior in the family.

Michael and I were greeted this morning in bed with the request "can I play Star Wars video games"? It has finally happened, Jacob is addicted to video games and quite frankly he has got the whole family involved. Jacob being new to Star Wars does not know all the chararters yet but we particularly like 3PPO (C-3PO).

This is how Jacob has looked the better part of this week. We will be setting limits from now on.

You Know It Is Going To Be A Great When...

Here is Jacob at 8:30 this morning in his PJs with the hose and pipes. Luckily the water did stay outside the house.
