Haircut

Look mommy I cut my hair! I thought we were past the age of haircuts but apparently not. We had been telling Jacob he needed a haircut before vacation and he decided to take matters into his own hands. It could have been worse I know, at least it was just the bangs. He even did a neat job, over the trash can so I didn't have to clean it up. Ah, motherhood..

Just a Snowy Day

We took a spur of the moment trip to the Angeles National Forest today to see if we could play in the snow. We could not make it to our destination because Mount Wilson Road was closed. We don't know why because it was not snowing and the road was wide open but we made due with the parking lot snow. Jacob did his best to make a mini snowman. He did find a big stick as usual on our mini hike. Most of the snow had turned to ice and was very slippery so it was a short day.

Downtown LA

Today we were tourists. We went to the central library for a performance/reading of The Velveteen Rabbit. Jacob enjoyed the reading since it had music and a mime. Afterwards we went to the children's section in which Jacob quickly picked out too many books. He has my love of libraries and books. Michael was able to see an exhibit on maps (mom would have liked it) while I read books to Jacob. After the library we headed out to Clifton's Cafeteria for lunch. I think Jacob liked the decor better than the food. On our way back to our car we went through Pershing Square which is transformed into an ice skating rink for the winter. Jacob was mesmerized. He can't wait to try ice skating. A good time was had by all in our downtown trip.
