Ice Cream Museum

Back in May Michael took us to the Ice Cream Museum in the LA arts district. This is a traveling museum that has made its way out West.
In almost each room ice cream snacks were provided. This was the second room.

The sprinkle room was something to behold. We were all taking sprinkles out of various places for the rest of the day including taking some home. If the museum comes to your town it is worth a visit.

Downtown LA

I have been wanting to go to downtown LA and the central library since winter break but due to colds we never made it until now.  We started at the central library which is my favorite place and I could have spent all day there but the rest of the crowd is not as excited about books as I am.  For the record, Jacob checked out 8 books on origami.  Next I wanted to see the sculptures done by Milton Hebald.  I met him about a year ago and he told me about his sculptures at the YMCA on Hope Street.  Finally, Michael wanted to see the new Grand Park and it was grand.  Since it was a warm day the fountains were popular with the little crowd.  There was a Starbucks there which I am sure will get a lot of business.  All in all a good day in Downtown LA.

Downtown LA

On the 6th night of Hanukkah, we went to downtown LA for a night of fun.
We ate dinner at the Original Pantry Cafe which none of us had been to before.  We enjoyed the big food dinner.

I bought tickets for Disney on Ice and we all enjoyed the show.
Downtown was very sparkly this time of year.
We all had a good time.  Jacob was thrilled to be out on a school night.

Downtown LA

Today we were tourists. We went to the central library for a performance/reading of The Velveteen Rabbit. Jacob enjoyed the reading since it had music and a mime. Afterwards we went to the children's section in which Jacob quickly picked out too many books. He has my love of libraries and books. Michael was able to see an exhibit on maps (mom would have liked it) while I read books to Jacob. After the library we headed out to Clifton's Cafeteria for lunch. I think Jacob liked the decor better than the food. On our way back to our car we went through Pershing Square which is transformed into an ice skating rink for the winter. Jacob was mesmerized. He can't wait to try ice skating. A good time was had by all in our downtown trip.
