A Faery Hunt

Jacob stuck out in the sea of pink.

Jacob sporting his spider tattoo from his Valentine collection.

We embarked on a little adventure this Valentine's Day by heading to Griffith park. First we attended a little performance by a group of actors called "A Faery Hunt". Jacob was unaware of his status as the only "prince" in attendance. If you want to see a little of what we did here is a video link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq_ynaaUqL8 Everyone had a Faery good time, parents included.

School Valentine's Party

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that seem to increase in importance when the kids enter school. Making Valentines turned into a writing assignment and delivering them turned into a reading assignment. The classroom party was amazingly calm considering the amount of sugar present. As you can see the kids enjoyed their cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries.

School Field Trip

Playing with seaweed.
Digging in the sand for sand crabs. Parents realizing that we will have to take home wet, sandy kids.

Touching sea stars.

Discovering whale bones.

Touch tanks.

Jellyfish tank.

Friday I went on Jacob's school field trip to the Santa Monica Aquarium. It was quite an adventure hanging out with 40 five -year -olds (two classes went).

Flying Ace

So it is good to have a friend who owns a plane. Michael was the only one who went flying today but Jacob got a taste of it. Jacob did not want to fly but consented to sitting in the plane and taxiing around the airport. When he finished he said he would fly next time so I guess we will be going back.

Beach Day

After 2 days of rest Jacob had most of his energy back so Saturday we headed out to the beach. We enjoyed the warm weather and the extension of our vacation. Jacob spent most of the time digging a hole.

Sick Days

You know you have a sick kid when they willingly want to take a nap. Most of you know that Jacob never stops moving but today he put himself to bed to take a nap. Since this never happens I had to take a picture. As you can see he is quite snuggled up even though it is 80 degrees outside. The past 2 days have been sick days for Jacob. Well at least our vacation was illness free.

Vacation

We have cruised back into port and are trying to adjust to life back at work and school. The ground still moves for Michael and I but Jacob never stops moving so I don't think he has noticed. The trip included many firsts for Jacob: first taxi ride, first airplane ride, first cruise, first lobster, first ice skating, etc. I am amazed his head hasn't exploded from all the stimulation. The trip was wonderful and we can't wait to cruise again. Michael has posted all the pictures on his site at http:\\zwang.photoshop.com
