Pictures From Science Camp

Jacob survived science camp and he had a good time!
Jacob's best photography came from things that don't move.

Jacob's best picture of a peacock.

The kids got to experience a camp fire.  Marshmallows were roasted and 'smores were made.

The inside of the cafeteria.  Jacob said the food was good.  He had hot chocolate for breakfast everyday.

The outside of the cafeteria.

Jacob tells us this is natural toilet paper.
One of his more artistic pictures.

The kids designed this tent and assembled it from sticks that were provided to them.  All in all it was a great experience for him and he had a good time.

Dodger Game

Michael received tickets from work for the Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger stadium.

Kareem Abdul- Jabbar started the game.
Our seats were close to the Dodger dugout.
We had a good time.
Hard to see but Harrison Ford threw out the first pitch.
Magic Johnson the owner.
The kids were very cute in their 42 jerseys.

Science Camp

I sent Jacob off to 4th grade science camp on Wednesday.  Once the kids were all together at school they were super excited.  Jacob took his camera so I am hoping to share some of his pictures.  Michael and I have been so busy that we haven't had a chance to miss him on our trip to Morongo:)

Happy Easter

Jacob surveying his Easter Basket from Aunt Thea.

Jacob decided that items that came in threes would be shared, that was nice of him.  We also dyed eggs today and Jacob got a fair share of dye on his fingers.  He wouldn't let me take a picture of  his hands, he said it was embarrassing.  Instead I have posted Jacob in his pajamas.  Nice Mom huh.

Creamy Chocolate Fantasy

From my favorite Mrs. Fields Cookie Book, I made these chocolate tartlets.  I found some brand new tartlet pans at my parents house that were begging to be used.  Never one to turn down a baking challenge I decided to make these.  I thought the chocolate filling was divine but Jacob thought they were a little too chocolaty but not enough to stop eating them.  The meringue was a nice tart contrast to the chocolate but it made them tricky getting them out of the pan.  Looking forward to other tart recipes.

Childhood Memories

These dessert glasses were filled with Jello parfaits, pudding or ice cream sundaes while I was growing up.  They represent a happy childhood.  This Friday I decided to have ice cream sundaes with my family to honor my father's memory.

After his cup was filled Jacob patiently waited until we all had done ours before he ate.  When we sat down together Jacob said "Shouldn't we say a blessing for Grandpa?  This is for Grandpa, right?"  Lesson learned.
